Mexico Terms & Conditions


REQUIREMENTS

  1. Valid passport or INE during the period of the lease.
  2. Driver's license in force and in Roman alphabet. It must have more than 1 year of use.
  3. Visa, Mastercard or American Express credit card. Personalized and with at least 1 year of use.
  4. Proof of address. Recent (less than 3 months) and original (physical or digital), not a copy.

The same credit card or cardholder may not be used to rent two or more vehicles within the same period of time. The credit card must be presented in physical form, have been used for more than one year and be personalized (with your name and signature).

Accepted method for counter deposits: Credit Cards (Visa, MasterCard and American Express).

Passport or INE must be valid during the period of the lease. In the case of INE, it must appear in the electoral roll.

 

AGE

The minimum age to rent is 18 years old. The minimum age to rent a car is 18 years old. If the driver is 18 to 24 years old, an additional amount of $185 MXN per day plus taxes will be charged.

 

METHODS OF PAYMENT AND DEPOSIT 

The total amount for rent must be prepaid by Bank Transfer, Bank Deposit or Visa, MasterCard, or American Express credit card.

The security deposit required will be $20,000 MXN and $25,000 MXN depending on the category.

Accepted deposit methods: Credit Card American Express, Visa, or MasterCard.

 

DAMAGE AND ACCIDENT COVERAGE

All rentals of our units have the following coverage:

RLP + CDW + LCA (Third Party Damage Liability, Damage or partial theft coverage with 10% deductible, Tire and glass protection):

Coverage against damages caused to third parties/property up to $750,000.00 MXN. You will have access to legal assistance if necessary.  Limits the driver's liability on the rental car to a deductible of 10% of the commercial value of the unit, in case of total loss or total theft.  Coverage of medical expenses in case of accident up to $40,000.00 MXN per occupant or the total amount of passengers according to the characteristics of the car. Coverage to tires and glass in case of accident.

Partial theft, vandalism or damage to parts or accessories, as well as damage to tires and glass are NOT covered. Partial or total damage caused by meteorological events such as earthquakes, hurricanes or floods are NOT covered.

In case of total loss or theft, the deductible will be 10% and must be covered by the client, as well as the days lost in the repair of the vehicle. In the event that the vehicle is stopped and referred to a corral for loss or fine, the renter must cover the rental days for the period that the vehicle is stopped.

 

FINES

During the time the client has the vehicle for rent, he/she is responsible for the payment of all fines generated whether they are municipal, state or federal.

 

FUEL

It must be returned with the same amount of gasoline with which it was delivered, otherwise the corresponding charge will be applied to the value of the fuel plus an additional 20% for refueling.

 

ONE-WAY

The unit can be delivered in a different city from the one where it was rented, applying an extra charge for Drop-off service, this will depend on the city, the time and distance between the delivery point and the return point.

 

NO SMOKING

Please do not smoke inside the vehicle. In case of smoke detection, a cleaning fee will apply.

 

GEOGRAPHIC

The units are not authorized to leave the territory of the Mexican Republic, so they cannot cross the borders of the United States of America, Guatemala and Belize.

 

MILEAGE

The client must choose one of the two rate plans available at the time of opening the contract: Rent plus 250 kilometers per day (limited) or free mileage, once the plan is chosen no changes will be made. Rate plans are not combinable.

  • Cost per excess kilometer: $3.00 plus VAT.
  • Rates are presented in pesos and do not include VAT.

  • Dimensions, cargo volume and payload are indicative, they may vary according to the type of bodywork and vehicle.

GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS

Units subject to availability

Rent includes:

  • Partial Coverage Plan.
  • License plates and registration.
  • Total costs of Preventive-Corrective Maintenance and tires (for normal wear and tear).
  • Roadside assistance.
  • Costs of vehicle verifications (Applicable as stipulated by the Local Government).
  • Optional telemetry (restrictions apply) which allows you to see the location of the unit, operation reports, driving habits and fuel efficiency.

Rental does not include:

  • Fuel, the unit must be returned with a full tank, otherwise fueling will be charged at the current rate plus 20% administration and fueling fees.
  • Operators
  • Payment of toll booths
  • Flat tires
  • Operation abuses. Upon return of the vehicle, an estimate of the repair charge for operating abuse is presented.

Operating Considerations:

  • Preventive Maintenance:In the event that the rental is longer than one month, the units must enter the workshop every 28 days at least 24 hours for preventive maintenance services to be performed.
  • They must take place on working days and hours.
  • The customer is responsible for the transfer of the unit to the workshop.

Transfer of units:

Due to the nature of Mex Carga's business, we do not have operators in any of the locations that allow us to make door to door deliveries.

Foreign transfers have a cost and it varies according to the cities, distance and tolls. They should always be quoted per event, separately and be expressly authorized by authorized personnel of the Company.

 

INVOICING

In case of requiring invoice, please request it at the moment of opening your contract, providing the fiscal data as indicated by law and an email, as well as a contact telephone number.

 

ONLINE RESERVATIONS

Rates that are affected by a technical problem with the website, database or other means or if the displayed rate is incorrect due to a technical problem or attempted manipulation of the displayed rate, will not be honored by the location.

 

EXCHANGE RATE

Due to fluctuating exchange rates, please note that the amount charged to your credit card may differ from the price quoted on our website. The difference (if any) will depend on the exchange rate during the period between the time the reservation was made and the time the charge is reflected on your credit card statement. Likewise, in the event that we should issue a refund to your account, we will refund the exact amount initially charged and will not be responsible for any fluctuations that may result in a higher or lower than expected refund.

 

CANCELLATIONS

If your reservation was confirmed through the website www.mexcarga.com or through our Reservation Center at +52 (33) 4624 2114, please use the same channel to cancel it. If your reservation was confirmed through a third-party site (broker, online travel agency, etc.) please use the same channel to request your cancellation. Some third-party sites have cancellation fees if the reservation is not cancelled within a certain period of time prior to your rental. Mex Carga is not responsible for such cancellation fees.
